How Do You Spell "Profit"? 1/2 Blood Lowline Cows
This is where the commercial cattleman has got to get to stay profitable. Breed first calf heifes to fullblood bulls, keep 70% of the hiefers for replacements, and they're on their way, to profitability. Easy fleshing cows, weighing 1100lbs., weaning 575+lb. calves, that require 20% less days on feed. Fleshier cows, easy calving regardless of the bulls bred to, big weaning calves, good milking, and easy to bred back.
1100lb. cows with 627lb. calves
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, i think you'll agree
The day before weaning, 6 months old.
Notice for as big of calves as they have on them, how fleshy the cows are.
Mature 1/2 blood bulls, these make nice hiefer bulls also.
